It was an honor to attend my first Puyallup City Council meeting as a council member last night, and then today see the article about my great-great grandfather Perry Summerfield published in the Puyallup Herald.
I won’t repeat his story here, but instead, please click on the following link to read all about him and how he inspires me to serve Puyallup: thenewstribune.com/news/local/community/puyallup-herald/ph-news/article53300000.html
At the council meeting last night, we approved this year’s schedule of Tuesday evening meetings which you can attend and speak during the “citizens comment” portion of the meeting, usually occurring near the 6:30 p.m. start time.
If you can’t attend the meetings in person, you can always watch afterwards once the video is uploaded. Click on cityofpuyallup.org/puyallup-on-demand/ then click through to http://www.piercecountytv.org/index.aspx?nid=103 on the left menu column, and it looks like last night’s meeting is already available!
It was a honor to be in a room full of public servants, whether they be fellow council members, our excellent city staff, dedicated volunteer members of city boards and commissions, and the many concerned members of the public who want to see our city flourish.
I anticipate a very successful year for our city and for our citizens. – Dean Johnson
